Google Gets DoubleClick Bid Cleared

by blain on March 11th, 2008

Today Google’s $3.1 billion dollar bid for online ad tracker DoubleCkick was cleared by European Union regulators, citing that competition will not be negatively affected for online ads.

With this piece of the puzzle set into place, there are no more hurdles for Google to pass to officially acquire DoubleClick.

Confrontation came with the likes of Microsoft and Yahoo who both felt that the deal would have too much control of the online ad market. Their efforts though came back empty handed as the European Commission found no proof that Google would be able to marginalize its competitors with DoubleClick.
